So when you activate this Chrome extension you will be redirected to a homepage:

Then you’ll be redirected to a list of available OS and browsers.
I recommend taking FireFox under 52 version because FF after 52 partially supports Java.
After that FF browser will be opened on your tab.
Go to Java verification page to be sure that it’s running.

Then it will ask you: “do you really want to run Java detection application?”. Press “Run”.
And at the end, it will say that your current Java version is 8 Update 151.
That means, Java is running and you can use whatever you want.

Step 6: Under the services, section search and find Google Update (gupdate) and Google Update (gupdatem).
Step 7: Uncheck both the Google Services and click Apply and OK buttons to save changes.
Step 8: Now, a message appears that asks whether you want to restart your PC or not then select anything according to your requirement.
After applying the above steps to disable automatic updates in Google Chrome, now make sure that this chrome update feature is disabled correctly.
Open Google Chrome > click Chrome Menu > Help > About Google Chrome.

Step2: Double click on the “Services” to open service manager screen.
Step3: Search for “Google Update (gupdate)” and “Google Update (gupdatem)” on the list.
Step4: Double click on both the update (each at a time) and on “General” >“Startup Type” choose “Disabled” option and click ok.
Step5: Restart your PC.
#Method 4: By Registry Editor
You can disable Chrome from automatic updating by editing registry keys.
Step1: Press Windows + R key and type “regedit” and then click on OK to open registry editor
Step2: In registry editor open “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” folder. Double click or click on the arrow to open the folder
Step3: Open “SOFTWARE” folder and look for “Policies”.

Step4: Right-click on the “Policies” folder and select the “New” and then click on “Key”.
Step5: Rename the newly created key to “Google”.
Step6: Right-click on the “Google” folder and select the “New” and then click on “Key”, rename the key “Update”.
Step7: On the right side of the registry editor, right-click on white space below the “Default” option and select the “New” and then choose “DWORD”.
Step8: Rename new key to “Updatedefault”.
Step9: Double click on “Updatedefault” to edit DWORD value and set the “Value data” to 0.
